Caitlin Skinner

Operations Administrator

I was drawn to financial planning because it combines two things I enjoy: technical problem-solving and helping people make important life decisions. Having studied international financial law, I’ve always been interested in financial services and in understanding how complex systems work in practice.

As an Operations Administrator, I support our financial advisers with new business, client servicing and the day-to-day administration that keeps everything running smoothly. A big part of my role is coordinating between clients, providers and advisers, and I’ve really come to appreciate how much good organisation and communication can shape the client experience.

I’m continuing to develop my understanding of the financial planning process, from regulation and compliance to how different providers work. I’m particularly interested in investment planning and how strategies are tailored around a client’s long-term goals and attitude to risk, as well as tax-efficient financial planning.

I’m organised and dependable, comfortable communicating with clients, providers and colleagues, and I take my work seriously and always aim for a high standard.

I joined Porta in July 2026 after completing an LLB at the University of Kent and an LLM in International Financial Law at King’s College London, where my studies focused on corporate finance, banking regulation and financial markets.

Outside work, I enjoy running, skiing, hiking and reading — particularly classic literature and Booker Prize-winning novels. And when I’m back home in Switzerland, I make the most of spending time with my dog, Indi.
