James McPartland – Managing Partner
I believe financial planning should be about more than numbers on a page. Money is emotional, personal and deeply connected to the life you want for yourself and the people you love. So before we talk about pensions, portfolios or tax wrappers, I want to understand what matters to you – your goals, your worries, your plans, your family and the future you’re working so hard to build.
Most of the people I work with are successful professionals and business owners in the thick of it- big careers, big responsibilities and not enough hours in the day. Some are progressing quickly in the City and earning more each year, but don’t have a clear money plan or sense of direction. Others feel that money goes out as fast as it comes in- childcare, mortgages, lifestyle, the never-ending cost of family life. Some are building companies and realise their personal finances aren’t getting the attention their business does. And almost all share the same underlying thought: “I just want to know I am going to be OK.”
I understand that life stage because I’m in it too. I’ve spent over a decade building a business while raising a young family, juggling the same pressures, ambitions and time constraints. That perspective shapes the way I work. I cut through complexity and noise, remove the jargon, and build clear, step-by-step financial plans that give you confidence, control and long-term direction. I become a financial sounding board you can lean on- someone proactive, honest and calm, who helps you make smart decisions and stay on track.
My focus is simple: to help you protect what you’ve built, turn income into lasting wealth, and create options – so that work becomes a choice, not an obligation. Whether that means earlier financial independence, more time with your family, building generational wealth, or just sleeping better at night, we design a plan that aligns with your life, not someone else’s template.
Clients describe me as straightforward, dependable and easy to talk to. I take pride in being professional without being corporate, and expert without ever talking down. This is a partnership – and I’m in your corner for the long haul.
Outside of work, I’m a big believer in keeping fit- the gym is my non-negotiable for staying sharp, balanced and resilient. On Fridays you’ll often find me on the golf course with a client, and at the weekend I’m either on the touchline watching my son play football or in the kitchen cooking a Sunday roast for family and friends. Those are the moments that remind me what all of this is really about- time, health, relationships and freedom.
If you’re looking for clarity, confidence and a long-term plan that supports the life you want – I’d be delighted to help.
